
Individual Cross Country & Arena Hire
Hire the cross country course or the sand arena (for Dressage or Jumping) to train on with friends or have a lesson. Minimum 2 horses. Cost is $40 per horse. Things to know:
Enter via Nominate at least 48 hours beforehand. Each rider is required to submit their own Nominate entry.
EA Rider membership is required, please have you EA number handy when entering.
If you’re having a lesson, your coach must have been approved to coach by the committee by completing the Register to Coach form. They must also have booked the relevant facility that will be used for your lesson.
Horse Health declarations will be completed as part of your entry.
Scratchings can be made through Nominate. There will be no refunds for scratchings less than one week before the booked ride date.
Yards and camping can be booked at the same time.
A safety vest is compulsory when riding on the cross country course and a yellow-tagged compliant helmet must be worn at all times when mounted.
Exclusive access is only provided if the whole grounds are hired for an event. Be courteous when sharing facilities.
If a fall occurs, it is compulsory according to Equestrian Australia to complete an incident report. Link below.

Rider Terms & Conditions
I accept the terms and conditions of riding at Fig Tree Pocket Equestrian Club and agree to comply with them. I understand that the FTPEC Committee may exclude me from membership, training at FTPEC and / or competitions in the event that I breach these terms and conditions.
1. Code of conduct
a. All FTPEC members, and non-members, have a right to expect good manners and courtesy from each other, and a responsibility to give it in return. Bullying and harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This applies to anyone attending the FTPEC club grounds.
2. Membership and Cost
a) All riders must be current financial members of Equestrian Australia. Your EA number will be validated as part of your Nominate booking.
b) The charge for cross country and sand arena bookings is $40 incl. GST per horse with a minimum of 2 horses i.e., $80 incl. GST per booking unless otherwise determined by the committee. To avoid this charge, become an FTPEC member.
c) Any scratchings for bookings must be made through Nominate by the rider as soon as possible. There will be no refunds for scratchings less than one week before the booked ride date.

e) The water jump is only filled for ground hire bookings when conditions are met.
f) Day Yards cost $15 incl. GST per day for non-members and free for FTPEC members. Overnight yards $25 incl. GST plus $50 cleaning bond for non-members.
g) Cost of powered camp sites is $30 per night.
h) There is no additional charge for coaches, but all coaches must Register to Coach, have been approved by the Committee and have booked the relevant facility via the supplied booking link.
3. Notice requirements for booking at FTPEC
a) The Club requires at least 48 hours’ notice for all bookings, no exceptions.
b) All riders must complete a Horse Health Declaration through Nominate when entering.
4. Manure, hay and yard cleaning
a) Please ensure all manure is bagged, free of hay, tied off with baling twine and left in the communal area by the gate to the yards complex.
b) Washbays must be cleared of any manure.
c) Please do not leave manure piled up around fence posts or in wheelie trolleys.
d) Please do not throw manure under trees or on the ground near the front gate or behind the wash bay.
e) Any hay and hard feed is to be taken home by participants or disposed of in rubbish bins on site.
f) Individual yards must be cleaned after use of all manure, hay, bedding and shavings.
g) Cleaning bond of $50 for overnight yards may be forfeited on individual bookings where yards are not left clean as above.
5. Safety
a) Helmets
Helmets must be worn by all riders when on horseback at all times.
Helmets must meet current Australian standards and must be yellow tagged before a rider can ride.
A rider may void an insurance claim if they were not wearing a helmet that meets current Australian standards.
b) Falls
The committee must be advised of any fall of a student or coach from a horse via email within 24 hours’ of the incident.
A mandatory EA incident report must be completed for any fall. Incident reports can be completed HERE.
Call QAS on ‘000’ if a rider appears hurt or injured in any way.
c) Concussion Protocol
The committee will not allow any student/clinic attendee who is currently following the concussion protocol set out by EA, to ride on FTPEC grounds. As a rider it is your responsibility to advise the committee if you are affected by this protocol.
6. Arena
a) Please ensure the take-off and landing areas in the arena are raked after using the show jumps.
b) All manure must be removed from the arena and placed into feedbags.
c) Do not use standalone pole wings for upright/vertical fences. Standalone pole wings are to hold the back rail of an oxer fence only.
d) Upright/vertical fences and the front rail of an oxer fence should be held up by jump wings only.
e) No galloping in the arena.
7. Cross Country Course
a) A body protector manufactured to the EN13158 or BETA standard must be worn (and visible) by all riders on cross country who are jumping fences, regardless of experience level and fence height.
b) Fences must be jumped in the direction that they are ridden in competition. Please check the position of ground bolts should you require clarification. Ground bolts are positioned at the front face of the fences.
c) The rider must notify FTPEC via email if any MIM clip is activated on a frangible jump. The jump should not be used until the MIM clips are replaced.
d) No bitless bridles or hoof boots on cross country.
e) Rider’s are expected to ride to ground conditions including being respectful of other riders, sensible around agistee horses and considerate of the quality of the ground.
8. Parking Area
a) Please remove all hay and manure from the parking area. All areas utilised for parking must be left clear of hay and manure.
9. Toilets and rubbish bins
a) Toilets must be left in a reasonable manner.
b) All litter and rubbish must be placed in the garbage bins. General waste and recycling must be separated and put in the correct garbage bin.
10. Failure to follow protocols
a) Should a rider or their support person fail to follow the protocols clearly set out above, the committee reserve the right to disallow any future ground use by that rider for a set period or indefinitely. FTPEC has a three-warning system in place to enforce adherence to its rules and bylaws. Warnings are issued at the discretion of the Management Committee, but must be issued in writing and state the reason for the warning. The warning system works as follows: a) At the first written warning, the rider is placed on probation for up to 3 months from the issue date and is no longer entitled to ride on the Club grounds from issue date. b) At the second warning, the rider is placed on probation for 6 months from the issue date and is no longer entitled to ride on Club grounds from issue date. c) Upon issuance of the third written warning, the rider is disallowed any future ground use.
